DID YOU KNOW...THERE ARE APPROX 25 MILLION BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED AMERICANS?

...Our Mission

At Webaudio, Our mission is to connect the blind and visually impaired to the world around them. Using audio to provide a wide variety of information relating to news and events. Utilizing only the best and most efficient technology available.

A person with visual impairments (who isn’t blind), could have a vision disability that can range from being significantly visually impaired (considered legally blind), to partially visually impaired, to simply having difficulty reading print. And smartphones make it even more challenging for VI people.

‘Access’ to the vast wealth of news and information that the internet provides should not be limited to any group or groups, and/or be restrictive, limited or difficult to access, for others. And audio is the best and most effective medium to use to provide this information to people with vision issues.

That is why we need YOUR help to bring this service to this special community!

For those sighted individuals, the App will appeal to you too!

Donate $100 or more and when the App is released, you'll receive a 'Thank You' token code that will last for a year...or give it to a person with a vision impairment, a grandparent, a Vet missing a limb, person with a motor control impairment or physical disability, person with long commutes, gym rats, joggers etc.

Use of funds raised...

Over 90-95% of the money raised will be used strictly to hire the employees needed to provide this service.  We all have learned in recent times that ‘bots’ are not capable of providing accurate and reliable news and information. Therefore, it is our strong belief that only ‘humans’, are capable enough to perform the functions accurately.

...Our Pledge Forward

Webaudio pledges to donate forward to Organizations that serve the Blind and Visually Impaired community, 3 times the amount of money raised with this fundraising campaign, within the first few years of service and after becoming self sustaining.

With your donation now, Webaudio will pay forward that amount (in multiples) in the next few years to come. YOU can potentially help millions of Americans gain access now to vital news and information and feel more connected to the world around them and feel less isolated. Your donation is greatly appreciated!

Why we are not a nonprofit...

There are approximately 1,571,056 nonprofit organizations currently in the United States (that averages to 31,421 per State in the USA). This figure includes public charities, private foundations and other types of nonprofits such as chambers of commerce, fraternal organizations and civic leagues.

The vast majority (99%) of these nonprofit organizations do a wonderful, amazing job providing services and supporting their communities with their energy, passion and heart! And yet many of these organizations compete with each other for financial donations and grants from any number of sources. Some constantly struggle to find the necessary funding needed to continue their efforts, on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

From childhood, we are all taught to be independent, resourceful and self-sufficient. Those exact virtues are taught to the blind and visually impaired. So as a company, the decision was made to pursue financial independence and self-sufficiency instead of always needing additional outside funding to continue to operate.

It is strongly believed that providing this type of service to the blind and visually impaired is an important endeavor and a necessary endeavor. Having to suspend operations for any amount of time due to losing funding or a gap in funding is completely unacceptable. Therefore, Webaudio is not a nonprofit.

In addition, we feel confident that after achieving self-sufficiency, we will be able to donate forward financial resources to organizations that are effective and are making a difference in ours & their communities.

Note: This service will not have a political identity or agenda. Politically based news stories will amount to less than 7% of the total audio produced daily. Each user can chose or decide not to chose political news stories entirely. In addition, each user can also chose the ‘types’ of political stories they receive, if at all. Every main category contains subcategories that each user can use to thoroughly customize their own audio playlist.
